Getting started

Install, open from the menu bar and optionally connect your profile.

Overtem is a native Mac app that lives in your menu bar. It needs macOS 14 or later.

Install

  1. Download Overtem from the download page. It lists exactly which Mac architectures the current build supports.
  2. Open the download and drag Overtem into Applications.
  3. Open it. The Overtem mark appears in your menu bar. Click it for the popover; choose Open Overtem for the full window.

First look

Without any setup, Overtem shows your Mac’s CPU, memory, pressure, swap, network, disk and battery. Agent sessions appear once you connect a provider account and allow Overtem to read usage metadata.

Connect an account

In Settings → Accounts, add the Claude Code, Codex, API or custom accounts you already use. See Provider accounts.

Connect your profile · optional

  1. In the app, choose Sign in. It shows a 10-character code.
  2. Approve the code on the connection page. The app signs in on its own. Nothing is published until you preview and approve it.

No purchase, paid license or expiring trial is required. Local tools work without an Overtem account; use your account only when you want connected profile and social features.

Launch at login

Turn on Open at login in Settings → General if you want Overtem available after every restart.
